Shay Mitchell is a Canadian actor, model and entrepreneur. She is most well-known for her role as Emily Fields, she is an actress and model on the Freeform TV show Pretty Little Liars. After exceling with modeling and dance, she decided to give it a go at acting, and began acting classes in Toronto. Mitchell landed some commercials along with appearances in television series. She got her break in the form of played Emily Fields' role in Pretty Little Liars. She was praised for her abilities by critics as with viewers. Her next step was to be a star in the world of cinema with films like The Dreamland Mother's Dayand The Possession of Hannah Grace. She became more popular after starring in the cult psychological show You. As well as acting, she has ventured into writing. Together with Michaela Blayne, Mitchell wrote the novel for adults titled Bliss. Shay Mitchell, born April 10th, 1987 in Ontario, Canada, was brought up by her mother and father Mark Mitchell, and Precious Garca. She was the daughter of Filipino immigrants while her father was of Irish and Scottish roots. Mitchell can also be the cousin to Lea Salonga - a famous musician and actress. When she was a kid, Mitchell attended Rockridge Secondary after which she transferred to West Vancouver Secondary School. At the end of her teenage years she was already modeling for various companies across the globe. She traveled through Barcelona Bangkok Hong Kong before getting back to Toronto and pursuing her studies in modeling in Toronto.
